Dimension doors are cast by player mages between two rooms, generally as a way of setting up a shortcut to far-away places or islands, saving the population a bit of typing or long boat rides. Unless the permanency spell (requires nightshade, a rare spell component of variable availability) is cast on them, they will disappear eventually. Once permed, they stay in place for the rest of the reboot unless they are dispelled by a mage. (Before you go around dispelling doors cast by other players, you should be aware there have been Law cases regarding this in the past. For examples, tell dibbs demotions of dispelling.)

Many of the doors have 'traditional' locations. Not all are cast every reboot. Directions listed after the room short descriptions are from the crossroads in Tantallon, with the exception of Infidian locations, which are given from the southern dock (where Diggan's Storm Lancer disembarks you).
